I
am a graphic design student at the Cranbrook
Academy of Art (2D Design) set to graduate in 2009. I'm
learning to be a schizophrenic designer by working alongside on
a handloom
revival project, as well as free-lancing for my favourite
design firm and playmates
in Delhi. Creator of design language for the award winning store
iwannagohome! Singapore, Concept Photography for Chantelle, France
and winner of a Merit Scholarship at the Cranbrook Academy of Art
USA, I also hold a previous MFA in Graphic Design from the ESAG
Penninghen in Paris, France. If you need more details, here is my
CV.
Currently based out of Michigan USA, I'm spending time doing some
reading. Not one to be reasonable, my new favourite topic is precisely
that: arguments on reason and logic. I am a strong advocate of argument as being a means to further a more intense and purposeful discourse on design.
Here's
what I'm reading to inform my uninformed self:
The Argumentative Indian - Amartya Sen
Gitanjali - Rabindranath Tagore
Power Politics - Arundhati Roy
Pillar of Sand- Sandra Postel
Shantaram- GD Roberts
The Enchantress of Florence - Salman Rushdie
Arthashastra - Kautilya (still reading this one)
Maximum City - Suketu Mehta
